Sri Lanka framed its first innings very well and scored a good total on the board in the third test against India at Brabourne Stadium, Mumbai on Wednesday. Sri Lankan opener NT Paranavitana and TM Dilshan played entertaining strokes and built a good partnership of 93 runs for the first wicket. At the same time, Paranavitana was taken by Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh at 53. On the other hand, Dilshan was got out by Harbhajan Singh in the third session of play at personal score of 109 runs off 158 bowls . He hit seven fours and two sixes in his ton. On the other end, KC Sangakkara (18), Jayawardene (29), TT Samaraweera (01) were failed to score good runs. AD Mathews (47 not out) and HAPW Jayawardene (0) was at the crease 67th over and the team total was 262/5.
Indian bowlers did well by taking rivals wickets at regular intervals. Harbhajan Singh took three important wickets, while PP Ojha and Sreesanth supported him well by taking one wicket each. By seeing the three session of the test match, Indian cricket fans can expect favourable results from the match.
